The double E is represented whith having the symbolism of Apollo head in the middle as a reminder of the Belonging of this symbol ÐЄ .
Ploutarch in his work " About E in Delphi " 15C says concerning the double E ÐЄ : " These, said , someone that understood well before Plato, 2 E consecrated to God ( Apollo) to declare and symbolize the number of the WHOLE- everything"
E is represented by the number 5 , also elsewhere in Ploutarch ( same work) is mentioned about the 5 worlds of Plato, also the 5 Platonic solids and the 5 kind of intervals in music and much more that 5 represents.
Number 5 repeating it's self gives 10 that is by the Pythagoreans the Number of the Perfection. APOLLO is about Perfection and harmony, is about the correct vibrations of everything in order worlds to be created.
Ploutarch ( about E in Delphi) 10.(389D) ..: " It is obvious that they connect Him with the five(5) that one time reproduces it's self like the fire does,and other times produces from it's self the 10,like the world as well."
That is also a short de - symbolization of it's name ( as also given by PROKLOS) which comes from 2 Greek words APO + OLLON Apo means FROM and OLLON means EVERYTHING from the WHOLE.
The double ÐЄ represents that exactly as it was symbolized in Delphi and by deep meanings of the Philosophers in Greece.
